"Pulling The New Yorker out of the mailbox every week is like getting a bouquet of civilization."
Based in West Los Angeles, TalkTNY, The New Yorker magazine reading and discussion group, gathers at a cafe or coffee shop to talk about recent articles and cartoons in the magazine. Typically there are 10 pieces, long and short, chosen for discussion.
Meetings are held every other week, usually on Saturday afternoons.
"Week after week, The New Yorker offers its community of dedicated readers a unique perspective on current ideas and evolving issues: one that combines humor and intelligence with depth and style. Readers come to its pages to laugh, to be informed, to be surprised, to be moved."
